The Algarve

These are just a few pictures taken whilst we were in the Algarve. The Algarve began to be wrested from the Moors in the 12th century and was united with Portugal as a kingdom in 1253. It includes the south west extremity of Europe. Cape St Vincent (Cabo de sao Vicente), where the British fleet defeated the Spanish in 1797.
It is steeped in history, and if you are interested then I suggest that you visit the library.
